Student Placements
Every year, we take on a placement student from a local university to come in as a Project Engineer. This is important to CCP Gransden as it allows us to support emerging talent, strengthen links with our local academic community and invest in the future of our profession, while benefiting from fresh ideas, enthusiasm and contributions to real, live projects.
Project Engineer placement students at CCP Gransden gain hands‑on experience working on live engineering projects, supporting project delivery from planning and design through to completion. Students work closely with experienced engineers, developing technical, organisational and problem‑solving skills while gaining valuable insight into real‑world project environments.

John - Placement Project Engineer 2024/25
"My placement at CCP Gransden in Ballygowan was a standout experience, giving me early responsibility in a real-world manufacturing environment. From day one, I was involved in core operations and led my own funded project.
A key highlight was representing CCP as a global finalist in the SAMPE Young Engineers Challenge at JEC World in Paris. I’ve since joined the SAMPE committee, which allows me to stay engaged with developments across the composites industry.
The encouragement and support I received at CCP played a major role in my decision to progress to an MEng at Ulster University. I’m grateful for the trust the team placed in me and for the strong foundation it has given me as I begin my engineering career."
